VACCINATIONS
PUPPIES:
- Can receive 1st vaccinations at 8 weeks old (if its mother was vaccinated)
- Can receive 1st vaccinations at 6 weeks or older (if its mother was not vaccinated, or if it is unknown)
- 1st set of vaccines = 6 - 8 weeks old or older (DHLP-parvo)
- 2nd set of vaccines = 3 weeks later (DHLP-parvo & Bordatella)
- 3rd set of vaccines = 3 weeks later (DHLP-parvo)
- 4th set of vaccines = 3 weeks later (DHLP-parvo, Bordatella, & Rabies)
- 1 year later = booster vaccinations (DHLP-parvo, Bordatella, & Rabies)
- Then, at intervals of every 3 years after that (DHLP-parvo, Bordatella, & Rabies)
KITTENS:
- Can receive vaccinations at 9 weeks of age or older (if its mother was vaccinated)
- Can receive vaccinations at 7 weeks or older (if its mother was not vaccinated, or if it is unknown)
- 1st set of vaccinations = 7 - 9 weeks old or older (FVRCP, known as feline distemper)
- 2nd set of vaccinations = 3 weeks later (FVRCP & Rabies). Kitten can now be tested for leukemia, if the owner wishes. If the test is negative, the kitten can also receive the 1st Leukemia vaccine if the owner wishes.
- 2nd Leukemia vaccination = 3 weeks after the first Leukemia vaccination (it can be administered if the Leukemia test was negative)
- 1 year after the 2nd set of vaccinations, the cat is ready for it's boosters (FVRCP & Rabies) (and a Leukemia vaccine if indicated)
- Then, at intervals of 3 years after that (FVRCP & Rabies)
ANTI-RATTLESNAKE VENOM VACCINATION:
- Helps to protect against rattlesnake venom, and greatly reduces damage from a rattlesnake bite. The anti-rattlesnake venom vaccination helps the animal's immune system produce antibodies which can neutralize the rattlesnake venom, and reduce it's damage significantly.
